ICAR-IIHR celebrated 75^th Independence Day on 15^th August 2021 following all COVID-19 protocols. The programme started with the flag hoisting by Dr. BN Srinivasa Murthy, Director, ICAR-IIHR at 9.00 am, followed by mass singing of National Anthem. In his Independence Day speech, Director conveyed his Independence day wishes to all the staff members and mentioned the increased production of horticulture to 320.5 MT during the year 2019-20, which is expected to reach the expected record level of 329.5 MT by 2020-21. He appreciated the hard work and contribution of farmers for the record produce in horticultural crops amidst the difficulties of Covid-19 pandemic. He also appealed to all the staff to work dedication and commitment for a self reliant India. Dr V. Sridhar, Dr PC Tripathi and Dr B. Narayana Swamy on this occasion also shared their remarks and conveyed their wishes to all the staff members. The programme was coordinated by Dr. S Shankar Hebbar, Nodal Officer, Farm Management Committee.
