Gamma Chamber facility is available at ICAR-IIHR
It is hereby informed that with consistent persuasion with BRIT and AERB,commissioning of Gamma Chamber 5000 installed at the Institute has been completed. The facility is now open for use.
Applications
Gamma Chamber is versatile equipment used for research studies in fields such as:
- Mutation breeding
- Irradiation of seeds, bulbs, tubers and scions
- Sterile male insect technique
- Biological and genetic effects of radiations
Gamma Chamber can also be used in many other research applications which require irradiation of materials with ionizing radiations to varying doses.
