Insecticide Resistance Management in Horticultural crops – Way forward!
Insecticide resistance and residues are two issues posing a major constraint to manage insect pests and food safety concerns. Both the issues need a vital policy decision, conducting research coupled with wide extension activities to educate the end users about judicious use of insecticides. Keeping this in view, Association for Advancement of Pest Management in Horticultural Ecosystems (AAPMHE) in association with Indian Institute of Horticultural Research (IIHR) Bengaluru is organising a Brainstorming session on Insecticide Resistance Management (IRM) at IIHR, Bengaluru on 30/8/2014. The meeting will be chaired by Dr. N. K. Krishna Kumar, DDG (HS), ICAR, New Delhi.
Interested persons working on the aspects of Insecticide Resistance and Residues are requested to participate in this event. The participants are also requested to send a brief abstract on the subject not exceeding 300 words relevant to the brainstorming session on or before 16th August 2014. Sponsoring institutions have to bear the TA and DA. Confirm your participation to Dr. V. Sridhar, Principal Scientist & Convenor, Brainstorming session on Insecticide Resistance, IIHR, Bengaluru-89 Mob-09449631795 & email : vsridhar@iihr.ernet.in).
