Dr. Debi Sharma served as Acting Director of ICAR-IIHR from 01.06.2022 to 12.12.2022. She holds a Ph.D. in Agricultural Chemicals from IARI, New Delhi. With over 33 years of research experience, her work focuses on pesticide residue dissipation and phytochemical analysis in horticultural crops, soil, and water. She established the Food Safety Referral Laboratory at ICAR-IIHR, which holds NABL accreditation for food contaminant testing and serves as a FSSAI referral facility. She developed "Arka Herbiwash", a herbal product for removing pesticide residues from fruits and vegetables. She has published 60 research papers and 10 technical bulletins.
