On 19th November 2025, the Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi released the 21st instalment of the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi, under which more than ₹18,000 crore was directly transferred to the bank accounts of over nine crore eligible farmers across the country. Since the launch of the programme in 2019, over ₹3.90 lakh crore has been disbursed directly to farmers’ bank accounts under the PM-KISAN scheme. On the same occasion, the Honourable Prime Minister also inaugurated the South India Organic Farmers Summit–2025 from Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.

As part of this national event, ICAR–Indian Institute of Horticultural Research (IIHR), Hesaraghatta, Bengaluru, organised a live streaming of the programme at the Dr. G. S. Randhawa Auditorium. More than 250 farmers from Karnataka and Tamil Nadu participated. The farmers were also exposed to various farmer-friendly technologies developed by the institute.

During the programme, Dr. Tusar Kanti Behera, Director, ICAR–IIHR, felicitated three progressive farmers for successfully adopting and disseminating IIHR technologies among fellow farmers. The awardees were:

  • Smt. Munivenkatamma, Kolar district
