ICAR-IIHR partnered with PPVFRA to conduct a workshop on March 16, 2026, at Vensai Flori-Tech farm in Doddaballapur, targeting the floriculture sector and addressing the PPV&FRA Act of 2001.

The workshop aimed to educate flower growers, breeders, and industry leaders on safeguarding varieties from infringement and navigating the legalities of plant breeders' rights. Attendees included Flower Growers' Council of India representatives, industry professionals, scientists, and students.

Presentations covered the PPV&FRA Act framework, farmers' and breeders' rights, registration procedures, and floriculture export promotion. Industry representatives from Shiva Shakthi Roses, INDAM, and Classic Flora shared perspectives on IP protection. A field visit to Vensai Floritech allowed participants to observe advanced cultivation techniques and new flower varieties.
