The Internal Committee (IC) of ICAR-Indian Institute of Horticultural Research, Bengaluru, organised an awareness and training programme on the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (PoSH) at the Workplace on March 18, 2026, at the Dr G.S. Randhawa Auditorium.

The programme witnessed active participation from Heads of divisions, Nodal officers, scientists, students, administrative staff, and technical staff, along with all the IC members. The session commenced at 10:00 AM with the rendition of Vande Mataram, followed by the ICAR song.

Mrs Suja Sukumaran, the trainer and POSH Consultant/External Member of the IC, provided a comprehensive understanding of the PoSH Act 2013 and its practical implications, covering legal rights of employees, the structural role of the IC, the confidential time-bound redressal process, preventive measures, inquiry procedures, and safeguards.

Dr. Tusar Kanti Behera, Director ICAR-IIHR, reinforced that PoSH training is vital for workplace inclusivity and equality. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Bhagyashee, S.N., Member (IC).
