ICAR-IIHR Bengaluru held a farmers' event on March 13, 2026, coinciding with the 22nd disbursement of the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. Dr. H. P. Singh, former DDG (Horticulture) at ICAR, was the keynote speaker, discussing the progress of horticulture in the country.

The gathering included Director Dr. T. K. Behera, divisional heads, and approximately 80 institute staff. The event drew 190 farmers (120 women) plus 15 public representatives. Agricultural supplies were distributed.

PM Narendra Modi's address highlighted the scheme's importance in providing direct income support to farmers.
