The Central Horticultural Experiment Station (ICAR-IIHR), Chettalli celebrated International Women's Day on 8 March 2026 at the station premises. The programme was inaugurated by watering a plant by Chief Guest Dr. Akshitha H. J., Senior Scientist, ICAR-Indian Institute of Spices Research, along with Mrs. Indira K. R., Progressive Woman Farmer from Madikeri, and Dr. Muralidhara B. M., Senior Scientist and Head (I/c), CHES, Chettalli.

Mrs. Indira shared her experiences and achievements in integrated organic farming practices, inspiring the participants. Dr. Akshitha highlighted the significant role of women in agriculture, horticulture, and society. She spoke about the theme "Give to Gain" and the UN slogan: "Rights. Justice. Action. For All Women and Girls."

Mrs. Indira was felicitated as a progressive woman farmer. Dr. Muralidhara explained the history and significance of International Women's Day. The formal session concluded with a vote of thanks by Mrs. Deepa T. J., followed by the National Anthem.
