ICAR-IIHR organizes a Farmers' Training Programme under DST-SCSP Project at Hosadurga village on 6 March 2026

A farmers' training programme on "Improved technologies for horticulture, dairy, small ruminant & soil health management" along with input distribution was organized on 6 March 2026 at Hosadurga village, Kanakapura taluk, Ramanagara district. It was jointly organised by ICAR-IIHR, ICAR-NIANP, ICAR-NDRI and ICAR-NBSS&LUP. About 120 farmers participated, presided over by Dr. Tusar Kanti Behera, Director, ICAR-IIHR.

Experts from ICAR-IIHR and ICAR-NIANP explained about latest developments in horticulture and livestock sector. Dr. S. Anandan focused on scientific feed management to improve dairy productivity and milk quality. Dr. S.N. Bhagyashree emphasized the critical role of honey bees in pollination. Dr. J. Satisha explained improved fruit crop varieties. Dr. R. Vasundhara spoke about soil conservation strategies.

Mr. Srinivas, SADH, Dept. of Horticulture, gave information about government schemes including drip irrigation with 90% financial assistance, farm ponds, polyhouses, and other MIDH schemes. Seeds and planting material of ICAR-IIHR developed varieties were distributed.
