Off-campus training on Vegetable and flower crop technologies conducted for Tribal farmers of Kalrayan hills on 5 March 2026
An off-campus training program on "Vegetable and flower crop technologies" was conducted for tribal farmers of the Kalrayan Hills at Karumandurai village, Salem district, Tamil Nadu on 05 March 2026 under the AINTHINAI project, jointly organized by ICAR-IIHR and the Department of Tribal welfare, Government of Tamil Nadu.
Dr. V. Sankar, Principal Scientist, delivered sessions on advanced production technologies in vegetable and flower crops, including improved varieties and crop management practices. Mrs. S. Sindhu, Assistant Director of Horticulture, explained Tamil Nadu government horticulture schemes for tribal farmers. Mr. P. Senthilkumar highlighted subsidy schemes for tribal farming.
Arka vegetable seed kits were distributed to all 200 participating tribal farmers.
