A Grape Field Day and Farmer's Interaction Meet was organized by the Division of Fruit Crops, ICAR-IIHR on 26th February 2026 in collaboration with Karnataka Grape and Wine Board (KGWB).

Grape farmers were taken into experimental vineyards showcasing new varieties Manjari Naveen and Manjari Shyama. Dr. J. Satisha explained features of Manjari Naveen including potential to take two crops per year, less GA3 requirement and moderate resistance to downy mildew. Dr. M. Sankaran, Head, Division of Fruit Crops explained the contribution of ICAR-IIHR in grape research.

Dr. P.V.R. Reddy and Dr. G.M. Sandeep Kumar educated growers about grape pests and diseases. Farmers appreciated the performance of Manjari Naveen and showed keen interest in cultivation. About 50 farmers from Chikkaballapur, Doddaballapur, Byatha, Hesaraghatta and Devanahalli participated.
