An awareness cum cleanliness drive was held at Seethakempanahalli village under shivakote panchayath of Bengaluru north taluk, Bengaluru urban district. The programme was jointly organized by IIHR and Shivakote panchayath. The villagers and panchayath representatives actively participated in the programme. A cleanliness programme was held in common utility place of the village under village panchayath possession. The villagers were taught about the problem of plastic in environment and effective ways for segregation and safe disposal of plastic to recycling units. The staff of division of social sciences and training headed by Dr. T M Gajanana, coordinated the programme. It was followed by a visit to a farmer’s field in shivakote village limits who has demonstrated the IIHR Rose Variety Arka Savi.
