Sri. S. Suresh Kumar, Hon’ble Minister of Primary and Secondary Education and Sakala, Government of Karnataka visited ICAR-IIHR, Bengaluru on 7^th July, 2020. Hon’ble Minister interacted with Director and Scientists regarding various technologies. He showed keen interest in mushroom based products developed at ICAR-IIHR viz. mushroom soup, rasam and chutney which are protein and vitamin rich, and had discussion with scientists regarding inclusion of these products in mid-day meal scheme for school children.

After the discussion, Hon’ble Minister visited Mushroom Laboratory and saw the facilities. He finally mentioned that his team of officers would visit ICAR-IIHR to take final decision regarding taking up these technologies for the mid-day meal scheme.

He also visited Seed Production Unit and appreciated the efforts of Breeder Seed Production staff in production of quality seed and planting material.
